I decided this was the year my house was going to get organized and clean - then stay that way. Not an easy task with a 3yr old and a 15 month old, but I'm determined to do it! Natural solutions for common problems such as teething, colic, morning sickness, the flu, that sort of thing. We also have products designed to keep kids healthy, such as the Floppy Seat Shopping Cart cover. We have fun things too, such as kids yoga videos, massage videos for infants, and bellydance videos for mom!
Why you chose this business :
When my first child was born, I spent a lot of time trying to find natural products for things that happened to everyone. Pregnancy and childbearing is such a special time, and we are all concerned about using medications at this time. Attached Mamas helps moms who want to take a more natural route, like I did. Plus, all the information is in one place!
Hardest part of business :
Finding the time to really devote to the business! Having two children who are still deeply needy of "mama time" definitely cuts into all that spare time that we as moms just have in abundance!
Best part of business:
The creativity aspect. I'm a writer and designer by education, and have enjoyed writing the articles and designing all the materials that I needed. I also love helping moms find answers to their questions - that was the reason I set up the community forums on the site. Moms need to connect and know that there are others out there!
Are you successful by your standards?
I think so. I'm glad that I can model to my children that you indeed CAN have what you want - you can still be a business owner and nurture your children.
Biggest support :
My husband, without a doubt! He has always believed in me and my abilities, even when I didn't believe in myself.
Anything you would do different?
I would focus more on search engine marketing in the beginning! A good deal of my traffic comes from search engines, and optimizing my site early on would have really helped get things moving. That first year is hard for new businesses! So much work and so little return. But it does happen!

Why Use Our Own Judgment When Marketing Our Work At Home Business
If you spend anytime you've certainly become aware of the word "Marketing Guru". This title is sometimes freely applied to those that have had some success in their own home business, making them perhaps somewhat more savvy than those just starting their own work at home business.
Most marketers will agree that the marketing of their goods and services, especially "online" is the most challenging aspect, and this is where many turn to the "Gurus" for advice and guidance. These "Gurus", or "Leaders" in the marketing field, do have much first-hand knowledge of marketing and the effective methods of marketing. They have initially tested and tried many varying methods of marketing, and many of them have become the authors of books and tutorials on marketing.
It can be important to perhaps read at least a few of the more popular marketing e-books and tutorials that are authored by the most famous of the "Marketing Gurus". Digesting at least one book or tutorial can literally get your home business "up and running" faster, especially online, than if you try and fail, try and fail, repeatedly. A good marketing e-book or tutorial, written by an established marketer (check the credentials), can definitely increase your success more quickly.
However, no "rules for marketing" can ever apply to every work at home business everywhere, and as with everything else in life, our own individual business needs and our own individual personalities and goals must be taken into account. Which means that in the end, your judgment, and your judgment alone should be the deciding factor when decisions as to marketing and the budget constraints of your business are at stake. After all, no one will ever love your home business as much as you do, nor can they ever have as much idea as to what your work at home business needs and what it doesn't.
