Products/Services: I own 2 resource sites for moms and one webdesign site specifically for moms.
I offer free and low cost advertising as well as low cost website design and services.
Why you chose this business : I originally started ContestForMoms.com as a hobby then I saw that it was possible to turn into a business by offering advertising to other businesses at affordable prices. I also chose this business because it was easy for me to start up with no start up costs.
Hardest part of business : The hardest part so far has been finding time to update the content on my sites daily.
Best part of business: The best part so far has been making friendships, helping other moms, and feeling like I am contributing to my family while being able to stay at home.
Are you successful by your standards? By my standards, I am successful. I dont make a lot of money but I am happy doing what I do and I know it will get much better as long as I stick with it.
Biggest support : I couldnt say there is one person who has supported me the most. There have been many different family & friends along the way...
Anything you would do different? If I had to do it over again, I would have sat down and came up with a clear, realistic business plan along with strategic objectives and specific goals.
I think this is very important for a successful business.

If your business allows customers to "buy first, pay later", chances are eventually you will have a customer who is very late at paying your bill, or even doesn't pay at all. Although there isn't any way of eliminating this problem 100%, there are steps you can take to avoid it.
I can’t seem to get it right. Living with two small children and caring for them all day on my own have had its impact. It certainly has impacted the way I communicate. Before kids, I tended to speak softly, almost lilting as if I had all day to say what had to be said. After kids, I developed an ability to shout out orders that would make any marine shake in his boots. Consider a recent episode in our foyer.
1 lb ground turkey
1 egg
1/2 cup ketchup
1/2 cup warm water
1 envelope onion soup mix
1 cup Italian Flavored Bread crumbs
1/2 tsp pepper
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix in bowl the warm water and onion soup mix. Let stand 1 minute. If you don't like onion pieces in your meatloaf like my kids, stir and scoop out the bits of onions. What is left is an onion broth.
Next, mix into the broth the egg, ketchup, and pepper. When it is combined, pour bread crumbs into the mixture. Add your ground turkey and mix well.
Put mixture into a loaf pan and pat down.
Bake for 45-50 minutes. Serve with brown gravy and enjoy.
