It's been quite a busy week so far, hard to believe it's only Wednesday! It does feel good though to have more than half of my weekly "To Do" list done. Unfortunately, the items left are pretty large items that are going to take me the rest of the week. We present our product line on the web and through our in-home "video" parties, which enable guests to see the products in their actual settings.
Why you chose this business : As a mother of four, I knew there was not one central location where you could shop for all the safety products your family would need, and if there was, you wouldn't be able to distinguish which brands were better than others. Safer Living truly is the one-stop source for the most important products in the world.
Hardest part of business : The costs associated with starting a corporation from scratch are difficult, even when you do know how to spend a nickel in six places! In our first year of business, I also homeschooled two of my children, making time for the business a savored commodity.
Best part of business: Being able to present families with products that could save their lives is phenomenal! And being able to provide our sales representatives with such a great product and future for financial success has been tremendously rewarding.
Are you successful by your standards? We have, in our first year, incorporated, received trademark, built our web site/online store, exceeded our first year sales goal, and made an 18-minute video that allows anyone in America to host a Safer Living party at their convenience, with or without a sales rep being there.
Biggest support : My husband has devoted every extra minute to working on computer needs and publications for Safer Living, and I have 2 friends who have come over almost weekly just to pitch in and help in the office. Other professional friends have offered technology, legal, and accounting support.
Anything you would do different? I would have gone a bit slower to keep up with the pace the business now demands.
